Just becasue I’m a big geek and have some server space to myself, I’ve set up movable type on this system, to replace the venerable hand-rolled “notes” section of the old site. The rest of the site remains hand-rolled, since it’s fairly custom-style information (song lyrics, annotations, discographies, etc) but I thought “you know, I see all these band sites, from big ones like Moby to small ones for indie bands, and they all have these hand-entered tour diaries etc. Why not automate the process?”
So I automated the process. And I can more easily grant blogging access to other members of the band, like the live guys, the crew, the management, etc.
I’m hoping Mr. Dan Clark will post his trenchant insights into the world of live music. His entries at Rattbelly.com were brilliant.
