Null Device is honored to be contributing the track “Starfall” to the compilation “Devastation Rose: Celebrating The Hearts of Oklahoma”, a benefit for the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes. The comp features tracks by Attrition, Diane Arkenstone, Venn Diagram, Numina, Stereospread and many, many others. It should be available soon. More info when we have [...]

We’ve been dropping subtle hints on social media, and if you visited the website in the past few weeks you might’ve noticed we’ve changed a few things. The new album has a title, most of a tracklist, and a rough target date. “Perihelion.” Summer 2013 (late july or early august, depending on manufacturing). Ten tracks. [...]

As 2012 draws to a close, we wish all our friends, fans, and families a happy holiday season and wish them a great 2013. The year in review: We eased back in to playing live after a brief, baby-related hiatus with a couple of kickass gigs, including one epic show at the Madison Museum of [...]

One week until Eric and Jill and Matt and John pretend to be Dave and Martin and Alan and Andy. One week! We’ve put together a set that highlights pretty much every album from…well, from 1980 to 1993, because we only get a 45 minute set. And we skipped “A Broken Frame” because there’s no [...]

Friday, October 26th, Eric and Jill (um, Null Device, but you knew that), Matt (Caustic) and John (Sensuous Enemy) are, for one night, coming together as The Violators, a tribute to Depeche Mode. Yeah, I’m guessing you’ve wondered why this took so long. It was inevitable, really. I mean Eric O, Eric G and Jill [...]

A bit more info on the gig at MMOCA, for the Leo Villareal opening. Starts at 6:30. We go on at 7:30 and play until 9 (but we get a break, of course.) Tickets are $10. Hors d’ouvres by Fresco! (yum!) More information here: http://mmoca.org/exhibitions/exhibitdetails/Villareal.php

All proceeds from this release will be donated to the fund for the victims of the Oak Creek Sikh Temple shooting. It seemed appropriate that Null Device, which has borrowed from the Panjabi musical tradition for well on a decade now, should use this track to support that community in their time of need.

It’s available for pre-order now from Metropolis Mailorder. Null Device has an exclusive, unreleased, new and exciting track on it, “Through Closing Eyes.” (hey, everybody! Sitars!) But we’re not the only ones. Our friends in The Dark Clan, Caustic, The Gothsicles, Rein[forced], Ego Likeness, The Azoic, I:Scintilla, am.psych, The Mighty Chouffe, SD6, Sensuous Enemy, Patricia [...]

In celebration of the new year, we’re giving away a quick-n-dirty dance-tastic cover of the PIxies’ “Monkey Gone To Heaven.” Free free free! Have a safe and happy 2012!

Woohoo! Congratulations to Jill! Stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen….Detric Frost Sheridan was born Dec 24, 2011 6:43pm. 7 lbs 4 oz, 21 1/2 inches. We are all doing well so far….hope to get a few photos up after we get home!

This year was very obviously not as frenetic as last year. We didn’t release an album, didn’t go on tour, or even play all that many shows. We had our reasons. I (Eric O) had a wedding to put together, for one thing. Elizabeth had a very adorable baby right at the start of the [...]

Friday, October 28th, at the High Noon Saloon – “Just One Fix – A tribute to Ministry” will be performing. Featuring members of Caustic, Sensuous Enemy, Null Device, The Dark Clan, and The Light Asylum. It’ll be a New World Order, and there will be nothing left to do but ding a ding dang your [...]

So this past weekend the last of the Null Device core members – me – got married off. It was a lovely day with some lovely people. So to celebrate, we’re releasing a chunk of songs I’ve been sitting on for a while. “Something More Exciting Than A Tornado: Null Device Live at WORT-FM.” Before [...]

While we were performing, mr. Brian “OwlBoy” Bortz was taking some video. And he assembled a pretty frickin’ cool little documentary about the show from that footage. You can see it here:

Congratulations are in order for Null Device vocalist/keyboardist/right-hand-ladyperson Jill Sheridan whose (in her words) “oven is bunned!” YAAAAAAAAYYY!!!!!!

Our lovely label is having a clearance sale. So you too can go mad, mad MAD buying stuff from Null Device, Interface, The Azoic, and many other fine bands. As their website says… JUNE 9TH-JUNE 12TH, 2011 With 2011 as our 10 year anniversary of WTII Records and also the 5th anniversary of the WTII Records “Live Sunday Showcases” we decided to do something big…. So yeah, they’re doing a 4-day fest in Chicago at the Abbey Pub. We’re playing on Saturday, and [...]

You might have noticed…we’ve got a gig coming up! First one in a while – since the tour, one of our members has had a cheerful little child and another member of the touring band um, moved to Qatar. So we’ve taken some time off. But we’re roaring back, playing at The WTII Minifest in June at [...]

Null Device has made it to the second round of voting for the Madison Area Music Awards. We’re up for best album, electronic, best song, electronic, and best performer, electronic. Also, our friends in Little Red Wolf are up for best alternative album. Give us some love there, if you’re so inclined. And while you’re at [...]

Null Device is releasing a single, featuring two new remixes of tracks from “Suspending Belief.” It costs a buck, which is unusual for us, with our normal “pay-what-you-want” policy. Well, there’s a reason for that. All proceeds from the sale of this single will be donated to the Red Cross, for assistance with the current [...]

Null Device is in the running for a few Madison Area Music Awards this year in categories like “electronic” and “pop” and “world.” Additionally, our long-time soundguy Adam Weisenfarth is up for best live sound, our friends in Little Red Wolf are up for country and americana and such. So there’s that. But. I would [...]

Our buddies in Little Red Wolf did something nifty, putting out a remix album of their classy folk-pop. And Null Device does a mix on it. The whole thing is pretty cool. Hereabouts is their press release: Madison-based folk-pop band Little Red Wolf is giddy with excitement to announce the release of a 6-track remix EP today, February 1, [...]

It’s been a pretty quiet year for us. Ha ha! No. No it hasn’t. Lessee, we released our 4th, and thus far best, album. We went on our first tour, and it was remarkably successful (plus! Nobody collapsed due to exhaustion or dehydration! Big win there!). We released a pretty awesome collaborative single with The [...]
