Everybody loves long, detailed gear lists, right?
Null Device records at Submersible Studios. It’s really just a room in the basement, but as one can tell from reading entries on blog.nulldevice.com, we put a bit of work into making it sound decent. Acoustic paneling, diffusers, monitor stands, the works. In some ways, acoustic treatment is one of the most important bits of kit in a studio, since if you can’t mix accurately, you can’t get a good mix, period. But aside from that, we’ve got a chunk of kit we rather enjoy. |

1 God I love this thing 2 Dave Thomas at AA does amazing things to stock chinese mics. This thing is probably n par with mics many times its price. The downside is that shipping from rural British Columbia takes a while. 3 Michael Joly at Oktavamod does a stunning job converting budget mics into the kind of gear that competes with high-end stuff. 4 Possibly the nicest-sounding electric violin I’ve ever gotten my hands on. 5 yeah, I’m kinda into Ned Steinberger’s designs. The Gibson-made instruments aren’t great, but they’re cheap. The bass isn’t bad, all things considered. 6 Purchased before Bob Moog got the name back. He actually answered the phone and took my order, too. It was a great day. |
